There was a fair bit of seaweed and other organisms which travelled down with the tropical regions, Blue jelly fish and the Current Was VERY strong, and could easily send you in-front of the rocks within a matter of moments if paddling wasn't consistent .. However the Opportunities outweighed the threats :)

The wind had passed and, and the sets were MASSIVE there were some 10 foot sets which came in, I didn't get the best of the waves, but there were some really good waves out there. Just need to get more fit and keep watching the you-tube videos ie.." Billabong Code Red Tahiti 20-30 ft reef waves", they help build confidence and the feeling gained is excitement over fear, and I think that that's another advantage of the internet (Video Streaming) in conjunction with sport. When the big sets came rolling in and broke in-front of me, one could measure the power of the waves simply by when duck-diving, as the thrust of water gashing past was immense. At these sized waves your body needs to be as stiff and streamlined as the surfboard when duck diving, then you'll pop out the other end and can continue the paddle. YEAH & I LOVED IT.
