After the surf, Jasper welcomed me to come for a hot cup of coffee at his favorite cafe, and whilst sipping away, some other birds saw Lucky "My little tag along parrot' and felt safe, so then joined the conversation.

I was just about to wrap it up for the season, I didn't get much of a chance to go surfing recently, however on a few short trips down south, and recently after the storms, the swell has been enormous, lucky I remembered to bring my surfboard just in case I had the urge to go out for a paddle. I'm a little bit skeptical to go surfing down south alOne, not many the beaches are patrolled, and i do have a slight fear after witnessing what an unidentified sea creature did to a mans fishing rod while i was there fishing once.
fortuitously I met a contact down there online from Kiama, who also happened to be into surfing.
We had some other things in common like tennis, and we both like to discuss life and even the Bible.
So i told him to tag along with me on sportkin, and so he did. Surely enough we arranged to go for a before 7:00 am surf at the 7 mile Beach and found that we had it all to ourselves and the swell was pumping. Jasper said " Chris really not sure about this, it looks a little big out there", I replied, "sure, i can understand you're feeling right now, and I told him a verse that i always think about when the fear begins to build. (There's a time to be born and a time to die... Ecclesiastes 3:2) "
As we began to enter the water, i said "Besides you could paddle to Hawai on that Malibu Board", he said "OK then let's do it next stop Hawai" and within about two minutes we were about 150 meters out the back with only just a few light paddles, the rip were so strong, and as the waves broke very slowly which made the initial stand easy and awesome to ride, a very nice peel from left to right, once we were out the back in all made this experience all such worthwhile. Frankly speaking i don't know if I would have gone out there alone, and It's great to be able to be motivated by one another.
I learned something which i feel is important from this activity: I learned that the water remains warmer until mid winter, a local told me that on the way back in to the beach just as he was getting ready to go out. And I've found that some people live in remote satellite regions seem to really be aware of their environment and whats going on around.
